Biography

Rima Kundu is a Santiniketan-based visual artist specializing in printmaking, with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Rabindra Bharati University (1997) and a Master of Fine Arts from M.S. University, Baroda (1999). Her career spans over two decades, marked by a solo exhibition, *Conflicts Within*, at Akar Prakar Gallery, Kolkata (2010), and significant accolades such as the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant (2014, USA) and the Elizabeth Greenshields Award (1998, Canada).

She has participated in numerous prestigious exhibitions in India and abroad, including the Lalit Kala Akademi National Exhibitions, Emami Art Gallery, and international shows in Germany, London, the U.S.A., and Nepal. Her work has featured in key thematic group shows such as *Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird*, *A Room of Her Own*, and *Enduring Legacy* celebrating Rabindranath Tagore’s 150th birth anniversary.

Rima’s artistic involvement extends to workshops and art fairs, from early serigraphy and etching sessions to contemporary events like *Herstory* in Santiniketan (2025) and NGMA’s *Dreams, Dialogue, Depths* (2020). Her creations are held in prestigious collections including the National Gallery of Modern Art (New Delhi), Lalit Kala Akademi, and private collections worldwide, reflecting a practice deeply rooted in Bengal’s rich art tradition while engaging global audiences.
