Biography
Ananda Moy Banerji (b. 1959) is a prominent Indian painter and print artist. He earned his BFA in Painting from the College of Art, Delhi (1975–1980), MFA in Printmaking from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan (1983–1985), and pursued research in Printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts, London under the Charles Wallace India Trust Award.
He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in India and internationally, with showcases at Gallery Espace, British Council, Lalit Kala Akademi, and others. He’s participated in major art events across countries like Japan, Korea, France, USA, Russia, and more.
Banerji is the recipient of many prestigious awards, including the National Award by Lalit Kala Akademi (1994), Charles Wallace India Trust Award (1996–97), Sahitya Kala Parishad Award (1991), and Nagasawa Art Park Residency (Japan, 2001). His work is in the collections of NGMA and various international institutions.
He has been part of and organized numerous art camps and workshops globally, is a founding member of Indian Printmakers Guild and Multiple Encounters, and is actively involved in promoting printmaking through exhibitions, talks, and digital platforms. He currently lives and works in Delhi-NCR.
